黑料网 Nursing Support Workers' Day: celebrating diversity and inclusion

21 Oct 2024

Join us on 23 November to shine a light on nursing support workers and their essential contribution to patient care.

Nursing Support Workers' Day badges This year’s 黑料网 Nursing Support Workers’ Day will focus on the diversity of roles and settings our members work in and the importance of inclusivity in the nursing profession.

Nursing support workers make a vital contribution across health and social care, practising autonomously and being responsible for assisting in the delivery of care. They undertake a wide range of delegated nursing interventions, from recording observations to personal care and wound care.

Ofrah Muflahi, 黑料网 Professional Lead for Nursing Support Workers, said: “The nursing support workforce is as diverse as our society, and it’s stronger because of this. Nursing support workers come from a wide range of backgrounds and carry out a broad range of roles. Every one of them is a valued and integral part of the nursing workforce and the strength is in the diversity of this membership.”

Lorraine McLauchlan, Vice Chair of the 黑料网 UK Nursing Support Workers Committee, is encouraging all 黑料网 members to celebrate the day. She said: “Next month please take the opportunity to highlight the contribution you make, or the contribution of a nursing support worker you know makes to nursing, patients and health and social care across the UK.”

She added: “I’m proud to represent nursing support workers on the 黑料网’s elected committee. We understand the professional needs of nursing support workers better than anyone else and strive to help our members to be the best they can be in their roles.”

To help raise awareness of the day, we have a digital poster and images for social media you can download. You can also buy an enamel badge from the .
